I keep telling myself, no more Roundup stories. Juries get it, the world is waking up and Monsanto can’t keep spinning a pretty face on this story. Like putting lipstick on a pig, a litte bit of makeup only goes surface deep,
Monsanto contributed so many toxic chemicals into our precious planet, things like DDT, agent orange and PCBs. Today they make Roundup, the most common weed killer in the world ,and want us to believe that like the others, this product is “safe.”
We don’t think it is safe and have even more reasons to dispute their claims.
According to a recent media reports, glyphosate (active ingredient in Roundup), is now being found in the bodies of pregnant females.
We already reported that Roundup’s active ingredient, glyphosate has been linked to leukemia, non Hodgkin’s lymphoma and myeloma. We also shared how it is been found in cereals such Cheerios.
And now, expectant mothers.
Some say that babies are especially at risk of glyphosate poisoning. There are studies that suggest glyphosate can harm a young child’s IQ and neurobehavioral development issues as well as contribute to attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
The EPA and FDA haven’t yet required much in the way of neurotoxicity tests so for us that means no real data or benchmarks. No testing doesn’t mean it is safe, however.
The director of the Neonatal ICU said in 2017 that Women with higher levels glyphosate were found “to have shorter pregnancies and babies with lower birth weights.”
As I write this, the third verdict was just rendered in a Monsanto Roundup cancer trial. A husband and wife who both contracted an aggressive form of non-Hodgkins lymphoma. The first two cases also involved wins for patients. All three juries found the victims’ cancer was likely caused by exposure to Roundup.
At this point, we probably don’t need a whistleblower to help us hold Bayer Monsanto accountable for these injuries. We are now focusing more towards recruiting new cancer patients.
The multi district litigation approved by the court is limited to cancer patients directly exposed to Roundup. The next wave of cases will probably be those exposed to glyphosate from indirect exposure (such as eating Roundup treated foods) and folks who have developed other diseases.
The newest research involving expectant mothers link children born to women with herbicides in their bodies with IQ and neurobehavioral development issues.
A Harvard professor recently wrote a report that said, “Recent insight into the toxic effects of pesticide exposure suggests that early-life exposure is of greatest concern, especially prenatal exposure that may harm brain development. No systematic testing is available since testing for neurotoxicity — especially developmental neurotoxicity has not consistently been required as part of the (regulatory) registration process.”
What does this mean? The EPA and FDA hasn’t required companies like Monsanto to provide comprehensive neurotoxicity testing on weed killers. Does that mean Roundup is responsible for every disease imaginable? Of course not but without testing, we are left to rely on Monsanto, a company that is responsible for Agent Orange, PCB’s and DDT.
Seeking Inside Monsanto Whistleblowers and Cancer Patients Exposed to Roundup
The defective products team at Mahany Law is seeking both whistleblowers and cancer patients. Although our primary concern are cancer patients and their families, a brief word about whistleblowers.
We suspect that Bayer Monsanto knows just how dangerous their products are. (If they don’t, that is just as bad – its called “willful blindness”.)
Since detailed neurotoxicity tests are not available to us and regulators, we are seeking “insiders” from Monsanto and their lab partners. You know the truth, know where “the bodies are buried”, and know where the smoking gun test data or memos are hidden.
There are probably no rewards available, although there is an opportunity for an SEC award. In less than a year, the price of Bayer’s stock has tumbled from $32 to under $16 per share. That is in large part because of the recent lawsuit losses involving Roundup. If the company hid bad testing results from shareholders, there may be a reward.
Even if no reward is available, blowing the whistle is the right thing to do. Glyphosate in Cheerios? Weed killers found in expectant and nursing mothers? Monsanto once said that Roundup is as safe as table salt. We don’t think it is and there are some folks within the company that have the proof.
We are happy to speak with you on a confidential basis. Even if we can’t get you an award, your info could still help us to help others. And you don’t need to be identified if you choose to remain anonymous.
Roundup Users Suffering from Non Hodgkins Lymphoma / Blood Cancers
We are presently seeking Roundup users suffering from non-Hodgkins lymphoma, myeloma and leukemia. We are not yet able to help folks suffering from other forms of cancer and diseases. We also aren’t able to help cancer victims who didn’t use Roundup professionally or around their home.
If a loved one recently passed and meets the criteria above, we may be able to help. Obviously, timing becomes critical in these cases,
Many of the pending 13,000+ glyphosate cancer cases involve professional groundskeepers, landscapers, farmers, and golf course workers. Homeowners qualify, however, if we can demonstrate through testimony that they used glyphosate based herbicides around their home to control weeds.
The California federal trial earlier this year involved a homeowner from the Napa Valley area of California. Earlier this year a jury awarded him $80 million after finding his NHL was likely caused by his use of Roundup.
